Oil. We need it. We run our economy on it. We drive on it. We thrive on it. The Democrats have managed to turn it into a dirty word, no pun intended. Indeed during this election cycle both Democrat candidates have spoken about the “evil oil companies”. At the same time the left-wing environmental groups and their left-wing lawyers are stopping oil companies from drilling anywhere in America or off her coasts. What consequence does this have for us? Well, other countries are drilling like crazy, everywhere. Us, no way, and no more refineries either, thank you very much. If this continues we will become a 3rd rate country.

Alas, Newt Gringrich has some bad news for us Republicans and we should take heed. Newt claims, and the poll number and some election results bear this out, that the Republicans have a real chance of taking a tremendous beating in the Fall of this year. Read it here. Well, well…we predicted this but did not know it would happen so fast…global warming is cooling down. The NY Times, oracle of the Global Warming gods has an article (read it here) about how things are cooling down. They quote: “The authors stressed that the pause in warming represented only a temporary blunting of the centuries of rising temperatures that scientists have projected if carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping gases continue accumulating in the atmosphere.”. So they don’t come right and say it, and certainly try to give these religious zealots some wiggle room, but the 800 lb. gorilla is certainly in the room…and he stinks!! As if we deniers didn’t know this and predict this.

What is it with Glenn Beck? What’s up with him? I like Beck and like his show but he tends to belabor the negative sometimes and I have to shut him off. He claims that we are heading for $500 a barrel oil. Could be Beck but what he and countless others fail to remember is that Americans are resourceful creatures. If oil goes that high does he think we are so static as to just sit round a bemoan the fact???!!! Hell no! We’d kick any politico is the ass and kick the environmental whack jobs in the ass and start drilling for oil EVERYWHERE!!! We’d open nukes plants everywhere. We use tons more coal. We are not stuck, Beck, we are Americans.

Well oil is topping off at $125 a barrel and bound to go up. Time to kick the environmental-wackos in the ass and start drilling for more oil here in the good old USA and yes, that includes Alaska.  Screw it  Let’s start drilling everywhere including off the coast of Massachusetts where that fat murderer Senator Kennedy lives!!!   More nukes plants too and let’s really start using coal, something we have a lot of.  What the f–k are we supposed to d, stay home and lose our houses!!!??? Does anyone really want a bloody revolution other than Rev. Wright (see other story).  Start drilling now, build more refineries, nuke power plants, more coal.  No more mister nice guy, this is getting serious.

*** UPDATED *** Did Senator Barack Obama commit the faux pas of the 2008 presidential campaign? Last week he said that “bitter” and alienated working-class voters “cling to guns or religion”. I’d say yes he did step in it. Read some of the many opinions here and here. Michelle Malkin has this as her lead. I think Hillary Clinton was waiting for this, a faux pas, and I think Obama delivered. He farted in public, no doubt about it. And it might just cost him the election.

Charlton Heston died on Saturday, April 5, 2008. He was a great man. We have our flag at half staff to commemorate his great life and his efforts to keep the American way. Read about his obit here in the NY Times, a surprisingly fair article. We are losing more and more of this generation every day. Alas, my generation, the ones who followed this one, are the hippie-types, many of whom want to tear this great nation down and rebuild it in some weird and grotesque way. Pity. Anyway, RIP Mr. Heston, job well done, sir!
